
The Friends of the Rocky River (FORR) is a non-profit, 501(c) (4) education & lobbying corporation. Its mission is to protect the economic, natural & environmental resources of the Rocky River for all citizens of Chatham County and North Carolina. FORR existed for seventeen years as an informal organization consisting of Chatham County residents and land owners along the Rocky River. As a formal non-profit corporation, FORR has been in existence since June, 2004. Membership continues to include both land owners along the river as well as residents throughout Chatham and surrounding counties. The membership elects the Board of Directors at the annual membership meeting.
